The Weekend is near and I Need the Rest

Minggu, 22 Mei 2016

This has been a huge week that everyone here in South East Queensland will be glad to put to bed as soon as we can. There is so much heartache and in some areas the smell is sickening. But I need to not dwell on this and deal with what is at hand.

                                    ...oooOooo...

This is unbelievable news about aquaponics. Here is the system for anyone: poor and rich alike.
Saves you your quality of life, your time, your resources, and many more.
Enter aquaponics, the whole of food gardening which has a small but growing group of followers, not least because its advantages seem almost too good for being true. An aquaponics installation requires no soil, scant water (two-ten percent of what’s employed in usual vegetable garden), a modest financial outlay and minimal maintenance. There’s no coping with pesticides, and also the system is sustainable and straightforward to set up. For gardeners alert to.....

                                    ...oooOooo...

How Aquaponics Changes the Game
- Waist-high aquaponic gardening eliminates weeds, back strain and animal access to your garden.
- Reuse resources currently considered “waste”. There is no more toxic run-off from either hydroponics or aquaculture.
- Uses only 1/10th of the water of soil-based gardening, and even less water than recirculating aquaculture.
- Watering is integral to the system. You can’t under-water or over-water.
- Fertilizing is also integral to the system. You can’t over-fertilize or under-fertilize.
- Gardening chores are cut down dramatically or eliminated. The aquaponic grower only does

                                    ...oooOooo...

Aquaponics system is the most sustainable food production system in our world today. Aquaponics in a dynamic, natural, pond-type eco-system, produces both fish and organic vegetables; thus producing 2 streams of income. Aquaponics systems provide controlled environment where aquaculture (fish breeding/growing) and hydroponics (soil less plant growing) is integrated together in a symbiotic habitat. It is composed of a water re-circulating environment where the fish and plants live symbiotically. Both light and temperature are carefully controlled in an aquaponic system....

Send in the clones: Popular scion exchange could produce hundreds of fruit trees

By nadia drake

APTOS -- Some of the tastiest fruits cant be bought. Not because theyre too expensive, but because they dont exist in stores. However, they can be grown -- cloned, actually -- by the average backyard gardener.
On Jan. 16, the Monterey Bay chapter of the California Rare Fruit Growers will host a scion exchange, where cuttings from fruit trees -- called scions -- will be available to buy and graft onto root stocks. There also will be a short grafting workshop, and custom trees can be created on the spot.
Fusing a scion to a root stock produces a clone of the scions donor tree, with the same tasty fruit -- like, for example, the funny-looking, scrumptious Allens Everlasting apple, which is not available at the neighborhood Safeway...

CROIX-DES-BOUQUETS, HAITI—By the time he was 4, Carlos Desir’s parents had died. His uncle and aunt, who adopted him, said only that they fell ill.
Then, late on the afternoon of Jan. 12, the earthquake that cleaved Port-au-Prince brought down his second home. His aunt, uncle and three cousins were crushed to death.
Next week marks the anniversary of the earthquake and, for 13-year-old Carlos, better times with families Nos. 3 and 4. The third is a group of orphaned and abandoned kids in an idyllic new children’s home on the city’s edge. The fourth — and most unlikely of all his families — is that of Air Canada’s chief operating officer, Duncan Dee, two plane rides away in Ottawa....

Why is there very little take up of Aquaponics in the commercial arena around the world? Is it lack of knowledge, too new and unknown or just too hard to make it work profitably?

Its not to do with making it work properly; it has been put to bed by now that this technology works and works well. My work at University and in New Zealand shows categorically that you can match, and even sometimes better, hydroponic plant growth rates and the harvest quality of the plants. Its more about whether it is financially viable or not. All commercial entities need to...

Aquaponics update. Added a strawberry tube to the big aquaponics system and a new 200L bed to the small greenhouse system. Both systems running well with plant growth that is amazing. A few pics. Posted by Richard at 10:15 AM ...

What kind of aquaponics supplies do you need to get started?....Trying to find out what kind of Aquaponics Supplies you need in order to make your very first aquaponics garden?  Im going to go over a few of the supplies that are needed below, and I will help you to get started by recommending a step by step guide that will allow you to start gardening with aquaponics by tomorrow.  I hope this article helps, lets get started below...

                                    ...oooOooo...

I want to know if aquaponics can be made into a profitable business model to replace or change "agrabusiness". I am for the decentralization of food, but will aquaponics be compatible with our modern world. Or would it be better suited towards home use...

                                    ...oooOooo...

This is a short one for the weekend. Ill try to make it up to you on Monday.
Please take care and Be Safe

THE WONDER THAT IS AQUAPONICS

Sabtu, 21 Mei 2016

Wonderful WEDNESDAY

When I started playing with Aquaponics I thought it was something that simply provided a means of producing greens a bit quicker and considerably easier. By now we all know the details, far less water, no need for fertilizers etc. etc. What a shock was about to unfold when I began to realise the incredible powers that had suddenly become available through A/P. Powers that are still being unravelled before my eyes.

Things like when growing tomatoes, you need to remove side shoots from the plant as it climbs up its stringy home. Every one of those removed shoots will grow into another Tomato plant simply by poking them into my gravel bed. Each plant providing another ten to twenty new clones that can produce ten to twenty more that can produce...  Each one of them an identical copy of the original.

If I go down to my local nursery I find tomato seedlings in a pot for something like six babies for $2.95 and up to $5 or more for a large seedling in its own pot.

And incredibly this applies across many plants that are still amazing me. An insect chewed off the top of a cucumber plant So I did the same thing. BINGO the chewd off head of the cucumber is growing fine as is the parent. The same thing happened to a Zuccini, with the same happy result. The A/P garden really is my personal, magical wonderland. I hope you get to play like me, to see just how far you too can stretch its ability.

Now lets get to work....

The president of Carbon Harvest Energy will discuss his companys landfill gas-to-energy project in Brattleboro as a practical model of sustainable and responsible resource use. Grandma is a fag

Jumat, 20 Mei 2016

Grandma, mom, Danny, and I went to K-mart the other day...and I told grandma that if she did this one thing (dont even remember) then she is a fag. She then went on to tell me later that she is a fag. Then she wanted to buy this stupid blow up penguin thing and I told her that shed get chlamydia if she bought it. She yelled out in the store that she wanted chlamydia.

LOL fail grandma.

So the picture on the left is a 24 month onsie... It says Stud Muffin seeks cupcakes. *Must be sweet. I totally wish I had a kid so I could have an excuse to buy it lol. Its effing cuuute. I mean the cutest thing I have ever seen for a baby boy (or lesbian baby I guess...if youre that into your kid being a lesbian).

Oh anyway...earlier that day we went to Frys. I asked where I could find Nero or any other DVD ripping software. The guy went on about how it didnt void copyright. Do I look stupid? I mean wtf!!! So now fully irritated he tried to get me to buy Roxio...which I beyond HATE. I gave him the stupid look (the punch you face Tom always talks about but times 100) and just turned up my iPod and walked away with Nero.

Then I saw Kelly and was like ZOMG KELLY I LOVE YOUUUZ

anyway...Ima go steal some candy and a soda from my diabetic fag of a grandmother XD

So today...little crappy. Lack of job...wait listed....bleh

so I did the emac egg on my Mac. Not sure what exactly it does but....here is what the computer had to say.

Yow! Legally-imposed CULTURE-reduction is CABBAGE-BRAINED!

Is it because of any hobbies you have that you say legally imposed
culture reduction is cabbage brained?

I have no friggin idea what this means XD

and after one of the lines...out of like...1000 it said

Perhaps this has something to do with your inhibitions?

smart ass.

so if you have a mac...here is what you do

1. Open A Terminal
2. type "emacs"; hit return (or enter)
3. Press ESC + X at the same time
4. You should see "M-x" appear
5. Type "psychoanalyze-pinhead" after the "M-x"
6. To stop press Ctrl-G

nice to know what this computer is thinking.

EDIT

I did it again and this is what I got

Yow! Legally-imposed CULTURE-reduction is CABBAGE-BRAINED!

Do you really think legally imposed culture reduction is cabbage
brained?

Yow! Legally-imposed CULTURE-reduction is CABBAGE-BRAINED!

Is it because of hangups you have that you say legally imposed culture
reduction is cabbage brained?

Yow! Legally-imposed CULTURE-reduction is CABBAGE-BRAINED!

How do you reconcile your inhibitions?

Yow! Legally-imposed CULTURE-reduction is CABBAGE-BRAINED!

What makes you think legally imposed culture reduction is cabbage
brained?

What is a Poser

Kamis, 19 Mei 2016

Yesterday, I met a "goth" model that...well Id never thought Id say this but, was probably a poser.
I dont like using the term poser.  Some people may seem "fake" but if that is who they are, then they arent posing as anything.

Anyway, he came up to us (a group consisting of me and some co workers) complaining about his work and about how he had to stand with the sun beaming on him for hours and only got 20 minute breaks with his hour lunch.  Even worse, he had to stay at his photo shoots for up to 8 hours including his hour lunch!

*gasp*

Of course this pissed me off.  I run around a hot fryer, get 15 minute breaks, and, even though we are entitled to an hour, I only get 30 minute lunches because were so poorly staffed in the deli.  Im at work a total of 9 hours most days but have gone up to 10.

We were talking about bands.  I told him the only real goth bands I cared for were The Cure and Bauhaus.  He didnt consider these goth and told me how much he didnt like them.

whether you like it or not, it is goth.  that is like me saying strawberries arent food because I dont like them

blah blah blah kid youre probably a poser and just pretending to look cool in front of us....a bunch of people that couldnt care less.

Truth: real goths listen to whatever they like.  He didnt like anything that wasnt labeled goth.  I see more goths in jeans and a band shirt than I see goths in black.  Yes...not all goths dress in black.
So what am I then?  Well sometimes I dress like this

sometimes like this

and this

and this

but its usually all smashed together.

Is it original?  Probably not.  I guarantee someone out there is exactly like me.  But who cares?  Its what we like.

as far as music...rock, classical, and electronic are my basic three.  Am I a goth?  Probably not.  I have stopped trying to pin a label on myself yeeaaarrsss ago.  It was much too hard.

Back on topic...this guy could have very much been a poser or could have truly been a strangely passive aggressive my way or the highway goth type thing.  I dont know!

Time is a great teacher if only it didnt kill all the pupils

Minggu, 15 Mei 2016

This morning started out pretty homosexual.

Woke up....shower took a few long minutes to actually get warm water...cool. But then it went out shortly after

-_-

So then I was walking down the street and then *BAM*

Yeah some douche bag obviously had their water on last night because there was ice running from their lawn....onto the sidewalk.

In the middle of class I realized my elbow was bleeding and was in mega pain...along with a pulled muscle in my leg.

ugh

So I waddled back to the cafe....and felt a little bleh...really sick. Thim enrolled in classes. Turns out the English class I want is already full and I cant even enroll till the 11th.

I went with Taylor to wal mart. Felt waaay better to get some sun...but went home and died. He bought me a burger from McDonalds...possible contributer?

Then I walked back tot he bus stop...where some asian dude was yelling random things at me and took food from this guy.

ugh...now Im back and I think people are gonna make me move. =[

Well Justin P. brought doughnuts and they were yummy. Thanks Justin!!!!

And now Im here

Facebook It really IS depressing!

Jumat, 13 Mei 2016

I didnt want to believe it when I stumbled upon an article stating that social networks like Facebook are depressing.  Well, I vowed to take the day off.  I have logged on to play my games and usually went and did something else (like look up raw food recipes that husband will enjoy.)  I kind of read a picture or two but once I caught myself, I would immediately leave.  So how has my day been?  Fucking fantastic.  I mean...holy cow.  Now I realize that the articles were right.

According to some research by some people that I dont remember because I originally thought it was bullshit, most Facebook/social network users post their success.  When we see how successful they are, we start beating ourselves up for stuff.  Most people post happy things.  We see how happy they are and wonder why were not happy.  That makes us even more depressed.  For the people that post depressing things...well you know...its depressing all by itself.  I realized this was very true.  I have wanted a baby for a while and most of my Facebook news feed is plastered with babies and how happy people are.  It is also plastered with weight loss stories and here I am, hating myself for my weight and eating problems.

Now the interesting part is, I decided to use my free time to use Stumble Upon to stumble....babies.  I didnt feel bad then.  I used to feel horrible stumbling on the "babies" section but today I felt just fantastic.  Cute baby here, cute baby there....

Then I played the Sims.  Im on a challenge using mods.  The family can only have children with family members because...you know...its the best bloodline.

Today is a fantastic day.  Enough said!

That Dungeon with a Dragon in it

There really shouldnt be any excuses on why I havent posted.  I mean...I just didnt!  I guess Im a rebel huh?  Camera is still MIA and phone is still an asshole.

But Saturday, I did have a reason why I didnt post.  Husband was hosting a weekly Dungeons and Dragons game at our house.  We have been playing 4th edition which...well he is still learning how to be a good DM.  Recently he has decided to take a step back and focus more on school.  In other words, he doesnt really have time to do any story progression.

My character in this game is Kiki (like Kikis Delivery Service of course.)  I totally dig redheads so most of my D&D characters sport red hair.  Kiki started out as a half elf summer druid but made her way into an ardent.  Originally, she joined the quest because her homeland was being destroyed by magic energy which naturally pissed her off.  She was originally accompanied by a bear named Cid that we used and abused.  Cid has been set free to live as a normal bear.

One of the guys has wanted to play Advanced D&D (D&D 2.0...were actually taking a few steps backwards here) and took over on Saturday.  AD&D has a hell of a lot more RPG in it than 4.0 so my character has quite the back story here.  Her name is Sivalri (which I have not taken from any other game.)  She is also a half elf but is completely different.  Her mother was kidnapped and raped by a dark elf and managed to escape (or so everyone is told.)  Her mother raised her but was hanged for doing so (as she was told when her mother kept her locked in the house.)  When she was 13, she became an orphan.  To make money, she became a bard (a class I have never played before, making it more interesting.)  At the age of 15, she met a warrior which brought her to a cleric.  Silvari is on this quest to, essentially, bring back the middle class.  The poor are very poor which has created more poor orphans while the rich are in control of all magic which could help everyone out in the long run.  Silvari has brown hair and green eyes with darker skin.

And so now you know why I may not post on weekends.

Tux Alyssa Spyro and jobs

Kamis, 12 Mei 2016

Now what if I told you this blog had nothing to do with either? Well Id be lying.

First we will start with Tux. Who is Tux? Why does he have a name? What the hell is going on that makes Tux so important?

First, lets recap. My friend Ashleys mom found two kittens. Ashley kept one and named him kinky after the kink in his tail. The other one they will continue to feed till he no longer shows up or someone takes him. One night I had severe insomnia and decided to name him Tux. Why? For number one, he is a tuxedo cat...kind of. In general, tuxedo is a black and white cat that is predominately black.

According to wikipedia, A tuxedo cat is a bicolor cat with a white and black coat. The derivation of the term tuxedo cat is because the animal appears to be wearing the type of black tie formal wear commonly known in the United States and Canada as a tuxedo. Most tuxedo cats are also black mask cats, a common name for felines who, due to their facial coloration, look as if they are wearing a black mask over their eyes, and often over their entire head. To be considered a true tuxedo cat, the felines coloring should consist of a solid black coat, with white fur limited to the paws, belly, chest, throat, and often the chin, although many tuxedo cats appear to sport goatees, due to the black coloration of their mandible -- that is, the lower jaw and chin. Bicolor may also appear in the skin color. Paw pads may be black or pink. Bicoloring of the nose and mouth are also common.

Theoredically speaking, he is actually a mask-and-mantle type like the one in the picture. In fact he looks a lot like that.

Now what is so important about him? Sacramento has this wonderful thing called the Sacramento Spay Neuter Commuter which offers low cost altering of animals for extremely cheap. For male cats, its merely $20 to have the operation done. Big whoop right? Well heres the issue. The neuter comes in a package. The package includes the castration, rabies shot, and a license. The problem with this is, Im not sure if I want to own this cat (even though he is cool and Id take him home...doesnt mean I can.) I probably wont attach a license to him unless I get to take him home. So why pay $20 to have a cat neutered that isnt yours?

Well lets talk about why Alyssa is important first. For you readers that dont personally know me, she is a dear friend that I go to school with. So whats so important about her? Well nothing, its her cats. They are unaltered queens (thats what female cats are called for ya guys that didnt know...male being a tom) that are outdoor cats and churn out litters every year. Whats the big deal about this you say? It is estimated that well over a million cats are euthanized each year mostly due to kitten season - a time in the summer when cats produce the most litters. The millions are only the ones turned into shelters. These do not include the ones that are left to die on the streets. My deal is to help spay any cats that she may have when I get the money to (likely when I get a job) and alter any kittens she may have. This will help prevent at least 300 lives from being seized due to overcrowding of shelters. That means a lot to me.

hundreds of kittens like this one will be
euthanize this year by one shelter alone.
Imagine the rest that will die across the
nation.

Now on to Spyro. Spyro is turning 10 next month. What does he get for his birthday? Castrated! Well I will be sure to shower him with love. He is too old to go to the Sacramento Spay Neuter Commuter so I have contacted Sacramento SPCA to see if they will do it. If not, I will just pay extra and go to a real vet where they will probably give him pain meds. I plan on letting him eat canned food seeing as he is old and his recovery time will take longer. I love my dog and I think I should show it more.
My list for things to get Spyro once he gets to live with me again.
-oversized orthopedic bed
-fountain style watering system (where water is always running)
-a new vet...the one I like.
-microchip
-rolled leather collar with license and ID (and possibly microchip tag depending on what chip he gets)

and of course...sweaters because he has long, but very thin fur. I hate watching him shiver around the house.

And jobs...what about em? Well I still need one. I will be calling back and bugging the shit out of every place I applied.

=]

So yup. Then I can have money.

A list of what I will do if I have money

-possibly move out...
-adopt Tux...have him microchipped and buy him cat things including Soft Paws so he wont beat up Spyro.
-Take David, Thim, and King out to dinner.
-Spay Alyssas animals
-take kittens off craigslist and alter them
-BUY TEXTBOOKS
-be cool
-donate to animal shelters (tax write off...yessums)
-new rat cage

and yup

AND SO THE POWER THAT IS AQUAPONICS JUST KEEPS GROWING

Selasa, 10 Mei 2016

Remember on Monday I wrote about both children and the More Mature members of our societies. Well I left out the middles. and the earlies. Say from 25 through to 50 years young. So what do I have to say about them. Plenty Brother..

For a start most people in this group are busy. They are busy from where I sit because to me, they look busy . They have lots to do, places to be, NOW. Yeah NOW is the priority in their lives because they are full of busy.

So how does a busy person have time to slow down to garden. Well! Its easy. Aquaponics....

Once an aquaponics setup has cycled and settled in, you dont have to spend hardly any time with it. Apart from selecting what we want for dinner, the only time I spend on our personal A/P unit is about 10 minutes per day and all I do is act like some commander surveying his troops. I walk around checking water levels to see if a bit of extra water is needed then I give the fish a bit of a feed, have a stroll through the grow beds checking that all is OK give the tomato plants a flick if its a Monday, (Yes Monday for me is flick day for the Tommys. Thats to spread the pollen in the air so fertilisation takes place. Just like you flick your sons ear if he needs it) Then Ill have a look through the plants for any bugs that may have found a way through the greenhouse shadecloth. There it is. A bit over an hour per week.

The only variation to that is a few seconds to adjust water flows if needed and once a week really study the fish, looking for signs of illness or stress and dealing with it as needed.

So that leaves plenty of time to go do "Busy" Plus youve provided a significant proportion of yours or your families food needs and the rest of the street as well if you are inclined that way.

Meanwhile we need to look for some new information......

                                               ...oooOooo...

The Twin Killers in Aquaponics – Dr Wilson Lennard
Dr Wilson Lennard is an Australian scientist with a PhD in Applied Biology. He has studied and installed commercial aquaponics systems around the world. In this video clip, he turns his attention to the future of aquaponics and the threats that can set it back many years.
This was filmed at one of my Aquaponics workshops in Brisbane Australia.

                                               ...oooOooo...

Next we have a Hydroponics web site talking about...Of all things A/P
In this set-up we are using the waste from live fish to feed our veggies. In turn, the hydroton (clay balls) used as a plant medium and the plants roots filter the waste and add oxygen back into the water for the live fish to breath.

                                               ...oooOooo...

Havent been here before
Ive created a new page called Aquaponics Extras to hold a few Special Topics regarding Aquaponics and ill start off with the Duckweed topic. Duckweed is an easy, cheap and abundant food source for fish. Its very high in protein (~40%) and could clean off waste water as well.

                                               ...oooOooo...

Now from the SQUIDOO Website:

Grow plants on unfertile land with aquaponics

Many people of all ages share the passion of gardening and growing fruit and vegetables. These people have the passion to see a tiny seed they have planted to reach maturity passing different stages and finally would like to taste the fruit and veggies they have waited for weeks and months sometimes.

The university has garnered $20 million to date in public and private support toward construction and program development at Eden Hall. Officials say a fundraising campaign will further support development. The ultimate dollar goal is still being decided.

The planing commission and board of supervisors in Richland will review the plan. It spans 20 years and includes about two dozen projects, from academic buildings and residences to a greenhouse, aquaponics facility and constructed wetlands.

Now heres a guy from Western Australia. Read and enjoy and remember IT WORKS for him: my vegie garden is kinda happening, its taking me a while to get used to the raised beds to be quite honest & the formal structure. our previous vegie garden was down the back of a chook pen on 5 acres that wasnt visible from the house, it sprawled, quite often became overgrown & i just chucked things in all over the place. being confined to the raised beds is challenging me & my meandering herb garden on the ground surrounding the beds is doing far better as i just chuck things in randomly.

What is Aquaponics? (Video)

by Chef Felisha on January 11, 2011
[Translate]
Aquaponics is a way of growing food that has a symbiotic relationship between the water, fish and vegetation. It is a wonderful alternative to other types of farming and when done well can add to the quality of our communities.

                                               ...oooOooo...

OK I think everyone is going to enjoy this one...:
ITPWC is a phytoremediation device based on the Eco-Machine systems developed by Dr. John Todd* and research done by the ITPWC team on aquaponics systems. Built in the men’s bathroom on the ITP floor, our inspiration for this project was to create a system that made a positive impact on air quality while also improving the overall ambiance of the space.

                                               ...oooOooo...

Finally from E-Zine articles:

Aquaponics media needs to be chemically inert, porous, stable and easily replenished. There are several aquaponic medias, like coconut husk, expanded clay, expanded slate, gravel, peat moss, perlite, rockwool, sand, and vermiculite. Each providing there own unique characteristics and benefits in different proportions.

I think you have some really good fodder to chew through here

The Seventh Month is almost a Memory

Two Thousand and Eleven. Not long to go.... And to me, saying it seems like a mouthful. Remember when we had to start saying two thousand instead of 1999, it sounded so weird.

Sorry, I was just amusing myself. Back to fish, plants, bio-digesters, Water quality and my favorite, Nitrates.

Richard Trenton Chase why you should research where you live if youre paranoid

Selasa, 03 Mei 2016

Why you should always check out the history of a place youre going to move...if you dwell on the past.

Chase is a vampire, cannibal, homicidal dude that was...well crazy.
What got me interested in this guy was the fact that he attended American River College where I go.

From Wiki (cause Im lazy)

Richard Trenton Chase (May 23, 1950 – December 26, 1980) was an American serial killer who killed six people in the span of a month in Sacramento, California. He was nicknamed "The Vampire of Sacramento" because he drank his victims blood and cannibalized their remains. He did this as part of a delusion that he needed to prevent Nazis from turning his blood into powder via poison they had planted beneath his soap dish.

You can find a million things on him. Whats interesting? We (we being a friend and I...mostly her) found where he lived.

The book (The Dracula Killer by Lt. Ray Biondi and Walt Hecox) does not give a specific address of his apartment but does give a pretty clear description. His apartment was on Watt Avenue, apartment 15 one block east of 2909 Burnece Street.
*non wiki source*

Well later on the page said what apartments but we found them ourselves.

Ok Ok...which apartments you ask?

Country Club Apartment homes.
2928 Watt Ave
Sacramento, CA

please do not spam them. Giving out all this info is probably illegal. Besides, its not their fault and by the looks of it, they have remodeled.

Its almost like my old friends house. Someone was shot and killed in there. They didnt mind. In fact they found the bullet hole and just hung a picture over it (you know who you are)

Also means that you shouldnt go mapping the addresses of the homes of his victims either.

the good the bad and the generic

well not really. The good is also bad but I will explain that later. First lets start with this random picture. I was actually commenting on Takas blog when this came up =]. It made me happy especially cause...well I alike Fable II. Yeah I know its spelled wrong but hey its in my favorite color!

So I asked this guy if he was dating this girl. He said something along the lines of "no because Im not sure if I really wanna be with her." I mean WTF...I agree with Taka on this one...dating someone is to see if they are marriage compatible with you...NOT to touch/make out with. He played two girls in two weeks...probably more.

You know who you are douche bag...cause we put you on the spot.

So now the good that is actually seen as bad.

Cull
1 : to select from a group : choose <culled the best passages from the poets work>
2 : to reduce or control the size of (as a herd) by removal (as by hunting) of especially weaker animals; also : to hunt or kill (animals) as a means of population control

from Merriam Webster

So why is this important? Well I was talking to a local rat breeder who says he culls unfavorable rats and gives them to the local snake and reptile rescue. I think I will do the same but sell to friends (as some of my friends buy from shops where the mice/rats are eating each other...meaning they arent healthy).

"In my opinion, culling is a necessary, albeit unpleasant, part of a responsible breeding program. While culling doesn’t necessarily mean killing (just removing from the breeding program) I’m assuming you’re referring to those that do kill the unacceptable specimen. A truly responsible breeder (in my opinion) is breeding to better the species/breed. That means discontinuing unhealthy DNA trails. Unless you expect them to spay/neuter every un-breedable pup/kit/etc they produce, culling is the only option.
In regards to reptiles eating the deceased, I don’t see the objection. It’s a natural part of life for them, and why waste potential food?"
-some chick in my myspace group

I have to admit this helped to shape my decision. As cruel as it can be...snakes need to eat too. And why not pull a pup with bad genes?

Ok and now the generic...

Taka and I went to go pick up Jacob this morning in Natomas...where he lives lol. So we did a U turn and there was a house that looked exactly like his...except painted blue. I was like "hey that house looks like yours!" We got to the end of his street and he pointed out a house that looked EXACTLY like his...same color and everything. Then we drove down the street a little and there again was the same house...same color but in reverse XD

I know its not just his area. A lot of the houses were David lives look the same.

way to go Natomas...so generic.

Its ok Antelope is like that too.

Linking all that is Aquaponics and that which is Not

Selasa, 19 April 2016

This may seem to be a strange title, but hopefully you will see the connections. Every AP System has at its core a fish tank, some form of growing area, plants, fish or other aquatic creatures and a flow system that provides the connection between all of them. The other additive is some form of propulsion (usually in the form of an electric pump) so that water and the products of the system (nutrients etc.) can be distributed throughout the system. Then we can add the bacteria that makes itself available to convert by-products of the system so that life is breathed into it.

Oh yes, I had better include the other bacteria. The bad bacteria that can settle in any corners and cause what can be, major problems within your system. We need to be aware that just as we have aerobic bacteria, we also have anaerobic bacteria in our AP system. However just as you and I have both good and bad bacteria in our bodies, its the proportion of bad bacteria that is allowed to develop that can cause problems.

Fortunately, provided we are aware of good housekeeping procedures in and around our AP system we are pretty certain of keeping it in a safe condition.

There are other thing that can be added to the list that can be byproducts or by-producers in your AP system for example Soldier Fly Larvae, Worms, Duck Weed, Lupin and probably many other available items and products that will gradually be recognized as beneficial to a system.

My hope is that each one of us can and will benefit by what is and will be available through the internet and of course through this Blog.

So to any new visitors, welcome pull up a log and sit a while.....

So now, back to my notes....
First up is a site that goes something like this...
Aquaponics is the marriage of organic hydroponics and aquaculture. Fish waste becomes

Heres a twist, this is a site introducing another site. So seeing as how Ive already provided a link to that other site, I thought I might as well do the same for this one...
The worldwide demand for seafood is huge and ascending. The global seafood industry is...

Ground cherries

Im not sure how other people feel about these little guys but to me there awesome!!, they have such a crisp unique taste, I can bring them anywhere without bruising or damaging them, they come in there on protective casing so no dirt or bugs really, and produce more abundantly then most considering its size.
This will not be a long post, just a celebration of the ground cherry in all its glory.
